Thank You, Kent Rotary!
This past spring, Project Ethiopia was the recipient of an international programs grant from one of our most faithful supporters, the Kent Rotary Club. This most recent grant will make it possible to provide University Transition Awards to 25 Dangla high school graduates who will be leaving for university in September. University Transition Awards consist of a carefully selected package of items that will help support cultural adjustment from rural village to university. This includes a sturdy suitcase, back pack, bedding, blankets, basic cell phone/minutes, and a round-trip bus ticket.
Since 2012, Kent Rotary Club has partnered with Project Ethiopia to bring life-changing projects to communities throughout the Dangla region. Their generous support has made it possible to the build an elementary school in Tara village serving 155 children each year, form three Farmers’ Associations consisting of 50 farmers each, and provide University Transition Awards to 15 students.
We would like to extend our deep appreciation to Kent Rotary Club for their faithful support over the years and for making the dream of a university education possible for these deserving and inspiring students!
